The existing changing room, toilets and showers were fully stripped out and rebuilt to provide a durable facility designed for heavy daily use. The works included:
The revised layout created a new fully accessible toilet and shower room with hygienic wall cladding and a level-access wet-room shower formed using an Aqua floor former and vinyl gulley.
The room includes a sensor-operated WC, accessible wash basin and lever tap, grab rails and a folding padded shower seat with backrest. A new FD30 fire-rated entrance was also installed to the changing room.
Summit Projects managed the refurbishment from strip-out to handover in close coordination with the Trust’s estates team and school staff. The works were phased and sequenced around the school timetable, with safe segregation maintained while the wider building remained in full use.
The finished facility provides students with a bright, hygienic and accessible changing environment and continues Summit Projects’ long-standing relationship with Mulberry Schools Trust across its East London schools.
