Summit Projects delivered a multi-trade refurbishment across the WC complex, foyer, function rooms, sports hall, bar and ancillary spaces. The works included:
The redesigned WC areas provide compliant accessible facilities, solid-core laminate cubicles, new vanity units, sanitaryware, infrared controls and baby-changing provision. New point-of-use water heaters were installed with copper pipework, isolation valves and drain cocks.
The car park was also renewed with 132 standard bays, nine disabled bays, new yellow lines, directional markings, hatched access zones, signage and a speed ramp.
Working as specialist subcontractor to Morgan Sindall on behalf of Basildon Borough Council, Summit Projects carefully phased and sequenced the works to minimise disruption to the centre’s day-to-day operation.
Public safety, access and programme control were maintained throughout, with all principal subcontract responsibilities and CDM 2015 requirements managed across the complex, multi-trade refurbishment.
